(Forward) Time Travel Is Possible (?)

Have been listening to a lot of astrophysics podcasts to try to cure insomnia (no offense, physicists, and to be clear my undergrad degree is in physics, but it IS boring a lot of the time, and helps me sleep).

But, one interesting thing I learned is that if you are in a gravity well that is deep/intense enough, time slows down in your frame of reference compared to other frames of reference. So, in theory, if you can get into that well, and then get back out, you could effectively travel into the future. This was a plot device in “Interstellar.” I’m sure the details would show this to be impractical, but the concept is fascinating.

“Take a flight to the nearest black hole, and watch the end of the solar system.”

The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, indeed, only without the ability to rock backwards… maybe Douglas Adams was on to something.
